Bahamas Habitat

Thanks to the enterprising efforts of Steve Merritt and Leon Abbas of Raleigh, NC you’ll be enjoying the cool Bahamas breezes from the comfort of a cool new Adirondack chair on your next trip down to Camp Symonette.

The beautiful hand crafted chairs were lovingly cut and formed in Leon’s shop and then Steve transported them to camp on one of his numerous jaunts down. They were assembled and painted in colorful combinations by the staff and volunteers at camp.

The ongoing renovation efforts at Camp Symonette have really been on a roll lately with painting and tile work. You’ll hardly recognize the place.   Plan to organize a group for a trip or join us for the next Fly-In & Help Out Event the last weekend in October 2009.
